Continuation of the Contribution Process

After making progress within the Gutenberg project, I decided to continue exploring other projects available on the WordPress translation platform in order to keep contributing with new strings.

During this stage, I identified the WooCommerce project within the WordPress translation platform. WooCommerce is an e-commerce plugin for WordPress that allows users to create and manage online stores.

When reviewing its translation status within the Spanish (Costa Rica) (es_CR) locale, I observed that there were still pending strings, which represented a new opportunity to continue contributing within WordPress Polyglots.

Unlike the earlier stages of the project, at this point the process became more fluid, as I already had experience using the translate.wordpress.org platform, understanding the structure of the strings, and correctly applying the rules of the language glossary.

As a result of this new stage of work, I was able to submit 26 new translation suggestions within the WooCommerce project, contributing strings mainly related to product filters, attributes, prices, and settings used within the e-commerce system.

Evidence of Progress in WooCommerce

The following screenshots show part of the progress achieved during this stage of contribution within the WooCommerce project, providing evidence of the strings worked on and the environment used to submit new translation proposals within the platform.

This stage demonstrated that the skills acquired during the learning process could also be applied to other projects within the WordPress ecosystem. It also showed that contributions to open-source projects can gradually expand to different components of the system, as long as the rules established by the translation community are followed.

Exploring different projects within WordPress Polyglots made it possible to broaden the translation experience and better understand how collaborative work is structured within open-source software communities.
