Verifiable Results of the Contribution Process
After completing several stages of the learning and contribution process within WordPress Polyglots, it was possible to observe a tangible and verifiable result within the translation platform. This result reflects the translation suggestions submitted during the development of the project.
Within the WordPress translation system, each contribution is recorded in the contributor’s profile. This makes it possible to view the total number of strings worked on, as well as their status within the community review process.
As part of this academic project, translation suggestions were submitted across different projects, including Gutenberg and WooCommerce. These contributions are recorded in the system as translation suggestions that can later be reviewed and approved by the editors responsible for the corresponding language.
Record of Progress in WooCommerce
The previous screenshot shows the system record corresponding to the WooCommerce project, where 26 translation suggestions submitted are reflected. These appear under the “Suggested” category, indicating that they have been submitted for review within the collaborative WordPress translation process.
Participation Recorded in the Gutenberg Project
In addition to the contributions made in WooCommerce, the system also reflects activity within the Gutenberg project, where multiple strings associated with the translation process carried out during this project are recorded. These metrics allow the accumulated progress within the platform to be viewed transparently.
The WordPress translation system allows the contributions made by each participant to be publicly and transparently verified, reinforcing the collaborative nature of open-source projects.
